An access log is a text file which contains a thorough report on all the files accessed by your Internet site visitors. All of the files that were requested in one way or another will be included, so if you have a PHP script app and a site visitor opens just the home page, for example, you might find a lot of files inside the log. This is because there are elements on the home page which are embedded - parts of other Internet pages, images, and so forth. All of these files will be listed within the access log, so that you can get a full picture of the way your Internet site performs. The info is in plain text format, so the logs are occasionally called "raw data" too. An access log provides the name of every requested file, the path to it, the date it was accessed, plus the user’s IP address, world-wide web browser and Operating System. More info, like the referrer website, is usually included too. A log file may be processed by various desktop applications for statistical purposes as an addition to the web stats supplied by your server.
Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting
Our custom Hepsia Control Panel features a section dedicated to various logs and the access logs are among them. When you sign in to your cloud hosting account and visit this section, you will find a list of all the domains and subdomains that you have. All it takes to enable the generation of access logs is to press a button which will be available next to each domain/subdomain. If the option is active, you will see a download link and also the file size so far, so you will be able to save the file to your personal computer and look at it or process it with some application. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect immediately, so if you don't need one, you may stop it with simply a mouse click from the same exact section of the CP. You'll still be able to access the already generated content by simply clicking on the Download link.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers
You will be able to see detailed access logs for any Internet site that you host in a semi-dedicated server account set up on our groundbreaking hosting platform. Our cutting-edge Hepsia hosting CP will allow you to activate the feature for each and every domain or subdomain within the account separately, which means that you can get logs just for the sites that you need. Once you sign in, you can navigate to the Access/Error Logs section where you will see a list of all the domain addresses and subdomains that you've added or created and an On/Off button on the right side of every one of them. Initiating or disabling the generation of access logs is as elementary as clicking on this button and the change will take effect straight away. You can save the logs in .txt format by clicking on the Download link in the exact same section. The latter will be available always, even after you deactivate the feature for a given domain name or subdomain.
